Hi, I’m Andrea Kilajian, an artist and creative workshop facilitator with a Master’s in Medical Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. I have over 5 years of experience leading art education and therapeutic art workshops for children, teens, adults, and individuals with disabilities. I also speak four languages and teach language courses, bringing my love of culture, communication, and creativity into my teaching. I believe that art is not only about self-expression but also about self-creation- a process of discovering who we are and who we can become. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a structured yet playful environment where every child feels encouraged to explore, experiment, and share their ideas and stories. In my art classes, we explore different mediums and creative techniques while learning about and drawing inspiration from influential artists. My language classes combine structured lessons with music, conversation, and interactive activities. Before teaching, I work with children with autism through creative, play-based approaches. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll find me exploring new art mediums or participating in the performing arts.
