Class Description
Step into a world of imagination where every class sparks creativity, collaboration, and laughter. In this high-energy theatre games course, students explore improvisation, storytelling, character-building, and movement through playful activities designed to boost confidence and communication. From quick-thinking warm-ups and ensemble challenges to mini-scenes and creative role-play, each session invites students to take risks in a supportive space where every idea is welcomed. By the end of the semester, students will feel more comfortable expressing themselves, working as a team, and thinking on their feet, all while discovering the joy of live performance. Instructors can tailor activities to the age, abilities, and interests of each group to keep the experience dynamic and engaging. An open space that allows for safe and spacious movement is recommended.

One of my favorite things about teaching kids theatre is that it allows me to stay in touch with the sense of play and joy that comes so naturally to those wonderful little humans. Seeing the confidence and creativity that develops from this collaborative art form inspires me every single day, and I've dedicated the last eight years of my life to cultivating those values in the mini humans that often prove to be just as much teachers as learners. I graduated with an MA in Educational Theatre from Adelphi University in 2021 and a Theatre BA from the University of Southern California in 2016, where I founded an a cappella group as well as a weekly theatre program with neighboring public elementary schools. In 2015, I produced the 30th Annual Children’s Festival of the Arts at Paramount Studios, where I integrated a theatrical element to a festival that had prior been predominantly based in the fine arts. Since then, I've taught theatre with Acting Adventures, the Fox Studios Child Development Center, Troy Camp, and Brooklyn Acting Lab. I'm passionate about traveling, finding moments to dance with reckless abandon, and the importance of letting the inner child lead in rediscovering the little joys in everyday life. I'm incredibly excited to have joined the Togetherhood family, and look forward to creating magic together!
