Class Description
Engaging theatrical practices from classical playwriting to devising, Theatre of the Oppressed, poetry, and the avant-garde, participants create original works of theatre based on what they want to express about themselves and the world they live in. The social relevance of the work includes the possibilities and techniques of imaginative and non-Naturalistic performance, as well as social realism and documentary theatre. Participants engage with acting, playwriting, song, dance, staging, storytelling, lighting, set design, directing, costuming — as well as having the possibility to work with recorded and/or live media.

I'm a professional theatre maker with experience in all kinds of classical and contemporary theatre, as well as specialities in devised, experimental, and socially engaged performances. I've also worked in education for more than 15 years, primarily teaching writing, English, and Spanish. A dedicated Brooklynite who arrived more than 20 years ago, I live in Sunset Park.
