Class Description

Creative, energizing, and culturally enriching, New York City has it all! In this immersive program, students will journey to iconic museums like MoMA and cutting-edge galleries in Lower Manhattan, where they’ll observe, reflect, and make authentic connections with art and each other. Following each field trip, students return to the studio for hands-on projects inspired by the artists and works they’ve encountered. From paper collages inspired by Henri Matisse, to colorful, textured experiments with contemporary artists, to clay vessels and imaginative habitats influenced by the High Line, students will explore a wide range of materials and techniques. This unique program connects art appreciation with art-making, giving students a chance to see the world through the lens of New York City’s vibrant creative community.
