NATALYA NYN, ART & FASHION EDUCATOR Hi, I'm Natalya Nyn and I'm a teaching artist and fashion designer with over ten years of experience across fashion, painting, sculpture, murals, textiles, and mixed media. I've taught pre-K through college, including English language learners and students on the autism spectrum, in courses spanning Fashion, Sculpture, Anime, Jewelry, Bookmaking, Arts & Crafts, and Sustainability. My philosophy is that every student can succeed in art, but not every student starts in the same place. So I scaffold. I build projects with a clear entry point for beginners and room to push further for students who are ready, which means the whole class works on the same idea at the level that challenges them. What makes my approach different is that I teach as a working artist with current industry experience. So my students take ideas from concept to creation to a real audience, staging fashion shows, making public facing murals, producing exhibitions, and creating original videos. I hold a BFA in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology and began my career in luxury fashion before launching my own clothing brand, which was featured in Vogue and Glamour and worn on HBO's Girls. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me hunting through flea markets and thrift stores for materials nobody else sees a use for yet or creating my own bio-materials. That curiosity is what I most want to pass on.
