Class Description
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of fashion figure drawing and the art of illustrating style. Students will begin with standing poses, practicing proportion, balance, and light and shadow. As the course progresses, they’ll expand into dynamic poses, exploring how fabric drapes on the human form and how to render different fabric types and textures. Using tools such as markers, gel pens, and colored pencils, students will complete a series of fashion sketches that capture movement, fabric, and silhouette. They’ll also look to professional fashion illustrators for inspiration, experimenting with techniques as they begin to develop their own personal style. The course culminates in a final project—a polished fashion illustration in the medium of their choice, reflecting both their technical growth and creative voice. Please note: A materials fee will be included.

I am an experienced fashion designer with a passion for mentoring students through every step of the collection design process. Having started at a young age myself, I know how hard it can be to find education, support, and resources when you're first getting started. I was very fortunate to find some amazing mentors when I was first learning, and I feel it's my purpose to be that resource for aspiring designers. I specialize in textiles, dyeing, color, patternmaking, and helping students find their voice as a designer - guiding them through the process from both a creative and a technical lens and helping them design standout collections for their portfolios. I am an avid creative and I am always experimenting and adding new techniques to my toolkit. Since 2020 I have been sharing my work as well as educational videos on Instagram and TikTok, ammassing an audience of almost 400,000 across all platforms.
