Hi, I'm Marquis Green, a Harlem-based educator, photographer, filmmaker, content creator, and creative professional who uses media, technology, and the arts to help young people discover their voices and build practical skills. My approach to education is built around the belief that creativity is not limited to one medium or type of learner. Whether I'm teaching photography, filmmaking, music production, livestreaming, gaming, camera operation, video editing, creative writing, or digital media, I focus on making learning interactive, practical, and connected to the world students already live in. I have developed and led classes covering photography fundamentals, exposure, composition, portraiture, editing, filmmaking, storytelling, social justice through media, beatmaking, songwriting, production, livestreaming, OBS, on-camera presentation, and live production management. I have also used gaming and competitive gaming to develop teamwork, communication, strategy, confidence, and problem-solving skills. My teaching philosophy is simple: results matter more than forcing every student to learn through the same method. I believe students learn best when they can connect their interests to real skills. That is why I am willing to expand beyond traditional classroom expectations when another creative medium can help a student understand, participate, and succeed. Outside of education, I bring more than a decade of professional photography experience, including wedding photography, video production, livestreaming, music, writing, and filmmaking. I understand the realities of developing creative ideas, working with limited resources, building an audience, and seeing projects through to completion. At the center of everything I teach is the belief that a student's interests are not distractions from learning. With the right guidance, the things they already love can become tools for creativity, communication, critical thinking, and real-world opportunity.
