Class Description

Unlock the secrets of songwriting in this creative, music-filled class! Students will explore what makes a song memorable by analyzing a variety of styles- from chart-topping pop hits to classic Disney tunes and musical theatre favorites. Along the way, they’ll discover how melody, lyrics, and structure work together to create songs that connect with listeners. With guided practice, students will build their own songwriting “toolbox,” experiment with different approaches, and share original works in a supportive workshop setting. By the end of the course, each student will have written and presented their own song while gaining confidence as both a writer and performer. Please note: A materials fee will be included.
