Hi, I'm Kait, a writer and artist with a lifelong love of all things creative. I specialize in exploring how storytelling and the arts can help us meaningfully connect with our environment here in NYC. There are so many ways to get to know ourselves and the world around us, from nature journaling and writing poetry to theater games and eco-conscious crafts. Building upon my creative roots (BA in Theater Arts and MFA in Creative Writing), I studied conservation biology courses at the graduate level to integrate the arts into urban ecology and climate education for all ages. Creativity is a powerful educational entry point. Personally, the arts led me to make lifelong friends, to travel abroad, and to become a first generation college graduate. I have over a decade of experience as a published writer, ranging from poetry and music journalism to communications roles at organizations like the Bronx Zoo, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and the Girl Scouts of the USA. As a member of the NYC Climate Writers Collective, I facilitate workshops at the Climate Imaginarium on Governor’s Island. I also co-curated an installation there as part of a current exhibition that interprets climate data through art. Together, let’s explore ways to bridge the gaps between information and imagination.
