Greetings, I’m Simone Wainwright, a retired educator with over 16 years of experience with all ages, from pre-K to 12th grade. I have a background in Autism, Special Education and STEAM therefore, I lead with inclusivity and joy! I believe in the power of incorporating mindfulness and joy with any course that I’m teaching. Whether that be an art course like crafting, drawing, painting, beading, pottery/clay or meditation/YOGA. RELA(Reading/Language Arts), writing/story telling, LEGO Robotics or music. When given the proper tools students can and will thrive in any setting! Creative expression and mindfulness/awareness are imperative to the developmental process. They both strengthen fine motor control skills, build problem-solving skills while strengthening cognitive flexibility in all areas aiding them in connecting to the world around them. I’ve seen how creative expression and mindfulness have assisted in developing emotional regulation, helping children process complex emotions, become more self-aware, and resilient! I look forward to being an integral part of nurturing children’s creativity and awareness. Most importantly watching them flourish, thrive and unlock their full potential!
