• I have been drawing obsessively since I could hold a pencil.
• I used to make up stories as a kid and write them down with abbreviations before I knew how to really read.
• I traveled across the US one summer by train.

I believe very strongly in the arts ability to help us build community and heal from collective and individual trauma. Art and storytelling has been a constant part of my life. I received a BFA from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette and an MFA from Florida State University. My focus has always been primarily figurative acrylic painting and drawing in various mediums, but in the course of my teaching career I have taught many other mediums as well, including darkroom photography, ceramics, digital arts, and film. In recent years I have also branched out into making comics and zines and I have tabled at several zine and comics events like Pittsburgh Zine Fair, Pittsburgh Indy Expo, and Fluke in Athens, Ga. I have also exhibited my paintings in several galleries in the south. In the last four years, I have worked as an adult technology educator and have found I have love for coding in Python as well.
