Hi, I'm Elena, a music educator with 13 years of experience and a Master's in Composition from the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University. I prioritize helping students find joy in music through interactive, play-based instruction. My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every child is musical. Whether we're exploring rhythm through movement, learning songs from around the world, making our own beats, or creating our own compositions, I strive to create an inclusive environment where kids feel confident to express themselves. Before teaching, I performed professionally as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, which gives me a unique perspective on connecting performance skills with education. When I'm not in the classroom, you'll find me writing and staging my own operas, attending concerts, or strolling through Boston's gorgeous parks.
