Multidisciplinary Visual Art and Design

New York City

  • Cultural identity and exploration is often apart of the lessons I teach
  • Mostly two dimensional art projects explore texture and textiles
  • Historically significant artists/art movements are often sited in lessons

I am an Afro-Caribbean multidisciplinary artist committed to building community through facilitating creativity and artistic self-expression while emphasizing the importance of collaboration between teacher and student in all areas of learning. I understand the importance of recognizing and nurturing the self and believe art is one of the most accessible ways to commune with oneself. I hope to bring each mind I influence an opportunity to see themselves outside of their physical and realize who they are through what they create. I approach each mind I influence with love, always, and maneuver through different mediums of art to suit student needs and engagement. I am committed to making art accessible through non-technical projects while maintaining the material integrity of each lesson, ensuring art elements and principles are emphasized. I hope to (re)ignite the love for art and creating, exploring the process, and guiding creative thinking so that each student may begin to use these skills in all aspects of their learning.
