Creative Arts & Crafts That Help Young Artists Explore and Create

Philadelphia

  • I grew up in Norway, and landscapes are my biggest inspiration
  • My favorite food is seafood
  • I love hiking and exploring nature trails

Hi, I’m Lene Drønen, an artist and teaching artist with experience developing and leading creative programs for children and families. I’ve worked with organizations including the Community Arts Center, Main Line Art Center, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where I helped create welcoming, hands-on arts experiences. My teaching style is encouraging, flexible, and focused on the joy of making. I invite students to experiment with materials, try new ideas, and make creative choices of their own. Whether we’re drawing, painting, making collages, or creating a themed craft, I want every student to feel included and proud of what they make. In my own artwork, I combine photography, paint, and stitching to create layered landscapes and stories. That practice reminds me how much can grow from curiosity and a willingness to try. I enjoy helping young artists explore their imaginations, build confidence, and discover their own ways of expressing themselves. I grew up in Norway and now live in the Philadelphia area. I’m excited to make art with students and create a relaxed, positive space where they can learn, experiment, and have fun.
