Hello! My name is Scarlette Ragues and I recently graduated from Boston College with a concentration in creative writing. I have a passion for storytelling and creating characters---whether on the page or in real life. My teaching philosophy centers on adaptability: no single activity will appeal to every child, and neither will every teaching approach. I believe that more is more when it comes to lesson planning! I like to have plenty of backup plans in my pocket and offer children options so they can discover what excites them most. Above all, I consider a class successful when every child feels confident contributing in their own way, whether that's acting out a role, imagining a character's backstory, or building on someone else's idea, while learning to collaborate with others. I believe learning should be fun, and I have a soft spot for silly humor (yes, I still laugh at fart jokes!). I find that early learners are often the funniest people around, so let's give them an outlet!
