Hi, my name is Amelie Tse, and I've been practicing mixed martial arts (especially Karate) since middle school. I was part of a program called Kickstart Kids where I got up to a Blue Belt, before completing up to a Brown Belt in a secondary Karate Dojo. In total I have around 9 years of experience combined, both as a student and an instructor. I believe beyond the physical benefits Karate provides, it helps students learn the mental disciplines that come with being a Martial Artist. There's a common misconception that Martial Arts makes kids violent, when it's actually quite the opposite. I strive to teach children not only how to move and defend their bodies, but also instill life values such as discipline, respect, courage, and honesty through my classes. Outside of Martial Arts, I'm involved in a variety of environments, I'm an artist and a huge enthusiast of all the arts (musical theatre being another of my biggest involvements). My passion for the arts and crafts alike build towards my teaching philosophy of harmony between inner peace and outer strength.
