Jessica Hyatt is a National Master and accomplished competitive chess player who began competing at 8 years old. She is the youngest African American female National Master in U.S. chess history, a 14-time New York State Chess Champion, 4-time All-Girls National Champion, 5-time USA National Youth Team member, and 2023 Pan-American U18 Female Blitz Gold Medalist. Growing up in a school with a strong chess program inspired Jessica’s passion for teaching. She now enjoys helping students build confidence, think strategically, and improve through engaging lessons, puzzles, and games. Her goal is to make chess both fun and rewarding for every student.
