Class Description

Bring science to the court with Slam Dunk Science! This high-energy workshop connects the thrill of basketball with the fascinating world of physics. Through exciting demonstrations and hands-on experiments, students will uncover how force, motion, and energy shape every dribble, pass, and shot. From studying the angles behind the perfect basket to exploring the mechanics of ball handling, science comes alive through play. Along the way, participants will strengthen their critical thinking skills, discover the real-world applications of STEM, and gain a new appreciation for both basketball and science. By the end, students will see the game- and the world around them- in a whole new way. Please note: This class requires access to a gym or outdoor court with basketball hoops, along with basketballs.
