Hi, I'm McKinley Wallace III, a visual arts educator and mixed-media artist with over 12 years of experience teaching in schools and community arts programs. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). I specialize in helping young artists explore drawing, painting, collage, and mixed-media techniques while building confidence in their creative abilities. My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that every child is creative and has a unique story to tell. Whether we're creating colorful self-portraits, experimenting with new materials, or working together on community-inspired projects, I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, expressing themselves, and having fun. In addition to teaching, I maintain an active studio practice as a professional artist. My artwork has been exhibited in galleries and museums across the country, and I love sharing my passion for artmaking with young people. When I'm not teaching, you'll find me in the studio creating new artwork, visiting museums, or exploring nature for inspiration.
