Hello, I am Adelaide ! I am Brown University graduate with a degree in Biology and a degree in Music. STEM and Music are more alike than you would think, and I always keep creativity as the center of my teaching be it through composing your own song or creating your favorite superhero organism. I started teaching biology in middle school and have always loved to witness the "aaah" moment students experience when understanding a complex concept for the first time. I have experience being researcher, and bring this to my teaching in several ways: (1) exposing students to real phenomena and letting them formulate their own questions, (2) favoring group-projects to emphasize collaborative thinking, (3) hands-on approaches to let students try, fail and try again seeing real-time results. I have also taught music extensively as a high school tutor and a teaching assistant. I believe that music is just as much about experimentation. I want to students to not be discourage by notation and to center my teaching around listening, singing and most importantly creating. This comes through composition and improvisation, in a deeply collaborative environment. Be it in Biology or Music, I want my students to live the classroom inspired and confident in their skills to come up with creative solutions, develop independent thinking and reach and collaborate with each other.
