Hi, I’m Meghan Welch, a taekwondo instructor with 6 years of experience and an Art student at FIT. I specialize in introducing students to the world of martial arts through interactive, role play based instruction. My teaching philosophy stems for the idea that children should be allowed to have a say in what they do, as long as they are doing it properly/safely. Taekwondo is based around 5 tenets, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control and indomitable spirit. as long as the students can demonstrate these tenets ( especially self control) I have no problem with teaching them more difficult topics if they want to learn! I started taekwondo when I was 6 years old. The first thing I was taught were the tenets. those foundational beliefs have guided me to where I am today, and I hope they will be able to do the same for the children!
