Art and Design
- My first job was scooping ice cream
- I love snowboarding
- I have been trained as a beekeper
I am a graduate of the University of Vermont with a degree in Studio Arts, as well as earning my Masters in Art and Design Education from Pratt Institute. My goal as an educator is to create opportunities for visual arts that are both accessible and rewarding to students of all ages and experience. Teaching for five years at a charter school in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn has prepared me to create a curriculum that is dynamic, resourceful and engaging for all artists. In my own practice as an artist, I have experience in painting, drawing, sculpture, digital photography and collage. I enjoy work with materials that are both practical, found and repurposed. Many of my larger format acrylic paintings are on reclaimed wood, which may have led to my experience working in a custom cabinet shop as a woodworker, as well as working as a house painter!
