Coding, Crochet, & Fashion Design

New York City

  • I learned to knit at 4 years old on the sidelines of my older sister's soccer game
  • The owner of the toys in the Toy Story movies "Andy" was named after my first computer science teacher
  • Before I knew how to use a sewing machine, I hand-sewed two entire quilts by myself!

Pazia Bermudez-Silverman is a passionate software engineer and educator with a Bachelor’s degree in both Computer Science and Africana Studies from Brown University, where they graduated magna cum laude. After four years of working as a full-time software engineer at Google, Pazia pivoted to education as a way to give back to their community. They now teach, tutor, and mentor full-time in standardized test prep (SAT/ACT), computer science, math, essay writing, and interview prep to students of all ages. Originally from Los Angeles, Pazia has been living and working in New York City since 2021. With a passion for math and art since childhood, they have always loved working with young folks and are deeply committed to supporting marginalized communities—including women, non-binary, LGBTQ+, low-income, and BIPOC students. Pazia uses an individualized approach to tutoring and educating, focusing on fostering the independence, confidence, and autonomy of their students. In addition to content mastery, Pazia helps students with the skills and tools they will need to succeed independently in any area life throws at them. Outside of coding and education, Pazia loves to roller skate, participate in social justice activism and organizing, and create all kinds of art. They are also currently a student in Footwear and Accessories Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Chelsea.
