Hi, I’m Duy’Mar Henry Oshae Young, a performing arts educator, vocalist, conductor, and arts administrator with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Clark Atlanta University, where I dual-majored in Vocal Performance and Commercial Composition. My passion is helping young people discover their creative voice through music and the performing arts while building confidence, discipline, collaboration, and self-expression that extends far beyond the classroom. I believe every child is inherently creative and deserves a learning environment where they feel encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and celebrate their growth. My teaching approach blends structured skill development with creativity and exploration, allowing students to engage through singing, movement, storytelling, performance, rhythm, music theory, and collaborative arts experiences. Whether we’re preparing for a performance or learning a new concept, I strive to make every lesson meaningful, engaging, and accessible for students of all backgrounds and abilities. My experience as a professional performer, director, and member of the AmeriColor Opera Alliance allows me to bring authentic industry experience into the classroom. Having performed on stages nationally and internationally, I enjoy showing students how the performing arts cultivate leadership, communication, teamwork, and resilience—skills that serve them for a lifetime. Outside the classroom, I remain actively involved in music ministry, community arts initiatives, and mentoring young artists. I look forward to partnering with families to nurture each child’s creativity, confidence, and love for the performing arts.
