- One of my favorite parts of fashion is seeing a simple piece of fabric transform into a finished design.
- My designs are often inspired by the textiles, colors, and craftsmanship of my Central Asian heritage.
- I debuted my own fashion collection at New York Fashion Week.
Hi, I’m Vazira Sadrieva, a New York–based fashion designer and sewing instructor. I studied Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and have years of hands-on experience in fashion design, garment construction, sewing, alterations, and custom clothing. I also run my own fashion brand and atelier, where I bring designs from the initial idea to the finished garment. My teaching philosophy is that students learn best when they are encouraged to be creative, curious, and hands-on. Sewing and fashion design are not only about learning technical skills—they also teach patience, problem-solving, attention to detail, and confidence. I want every student to feel proud of what they create, regardless of their experience level. What makes my approach unique is that I bring real-world fashion experience into the classroom. I enjoy showing students how an idea can begin as a simple sketch and develop into something they can actually wear or use. I break each project into approachable steps and encourage students to experiment with fabrics, colors, and design details to make their work their own. My goal is to create a welcoming and inspiring classroom where students can learn practical skills while developing their individual creativity and personal style.
