Hello! I'm Alexandra Courtney. I am Panamanian-American illustrator & Concept Artist. I graduated with a BFA in Communication Design (Emphasis in Illustration) from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. My work dives into fantastical and surreal themes, often exploring monsters, the supernatural, and the unreal, bringing subcultures that I’m a fan of into my work. I love to play with color and line to evoke deep emotions, and I'm passionate about narrative-based work, especially in character and concept art. My illustrations often delve into themes of culture and identity, bringing a moody, fun, and exciting vibe that resonates emotionally. I specialize in bringing concepts and projects to life through research, visual exploration, and working through several ideas to bring something to life. This can include working on environment designs, character designs, concept work for posters, album covers, etc. My goal with instructing is to help others find new ways to unleash their creativity, providing them with a way to explore themselves and what they are passionate about.
