Hi there! I'm so happy you're here! My name is Abigail Mosier (she/her) and I am a dance artist, choreographer, dance educator, model, and writer based in Philadelphia, PA. I have over 20 years of dance performance experience with over 7 years of choreography and teaching experience. I have worked with students of varying ability levels ages 3-75 as well as students on the autistic spectrum. I have extensive training in various contemporary and modern forms, ballet, hip-hop, jazz, tap, and improvisational studies. My class instruction often includes the use of imagery and metaphor with a focus on physical and emotional expression. I take inspiration from dance movement therapy, my somatic practices, and various dance techniques to create a supportive, upbeat, and inclusive class space. My goal for each class is for students to leave feeling creatively stimulated, empowered/present in their bodies, and inspired to live happier and healthier lives! Education: BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts Minors: Creative Writing, Business Teaching Certifications: - Pilates Matwork - Applied Stretching Theory & Practice - The Franklin Method®: Pelvic Floor Fascia - The Franklin Method®: The Art and Science of the Plié As a mover, I have a deep interest in contact improvisation, site-specific exploration, and multidisciplinary work that invites elements of performance art. I have studied through the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy where I participated in several artist residencies and curated site-specific, collaborative, experimental performance art installations across Florence, Naples, Rome, and Tuscany. I have also researched in Barcelona, Spain alongside various movement, sound, and somatic artists in residency spaces such as Fabra i Coats, L’animal a L’esquena, and the Institut del Theatre which accumulated to a performance in the Barcelona Tangent Festival.
