Inspiring Creativity, Confidence & Self-Expression Through Art

Washington D.C

  • I love to live sketch portraits of people
  • I'm learning electric guitar.
  • I grew up in Roswell, New Mexico home of the famous 1947 alien crash.

My name is Sheerah Naysia, and I am an artist and educator with a Bachelor of Science degree in Two-Dimensional Design from Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU). I worked for many years as a professional freelance artist and have also been invited as a guest artist to demonstrate my acrylic painting techniques for two local art guilds. These experiences, along with my work with children in educational settings, have shaped both the artist and teacher I am today. My teaching philosophy is centered on creating a welcoming and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable exploring, experimenting, and expressing themselves. I believe art education is about much more than learning how to draw or paint. Through art, children can develop confidence, imagination, problem-solving skills, patience, and their own unique creative voices. What makes my approach unique is the combination of my professional art experience and my understanding that children learn in different ways. I strive to make art concepts engaging, accessible, and enjoyable while giving students the freedom to make their work their own. I especially value creating opportunities for students of varying abilities and learning needs to participate, experience success, and feel proud of what they create. As an artist, I know firsthand the satisfaction of turning an idea into something meaningful. As a teacher, one of my greatest rewards is seeing that same excitement in a child when they realize, “I made this!”
