Sara Lavan is a dance and movement educator who has built her career creating programs that center creativity, community, and well-being. She is a teaching artist with the Kennedy Center and the founder and former Executive and Artistic Director of a nonprofit dance organization. There, she directed the LMP Collective, a professional dance company featuring women ages 25–55, created the intergenerational community production In Wonderland, and produced Not an Exit, a dance film that was selected for multiple film festivals. Sara has performed on stages in New York City and the DC Metro area, and has been featured on TEDx Oronoco Bay, in the University of Pennsylvania’s Arts and Human Flourishing Lab series, and on the podcast Dance with Teachers. Her writing has been published in Dance Magazine, Dance Teacher, and Dance Studio Life, and she has presented at national conferences. She holds a BA from New York University.
