My name is Sungyeun Kim and I live in West New York, NJ with my 3 lovely cats:) I started singing Mozart art songs and opera arias since I was 13. After I came to the US, I realized there are so many types of genre that we all could enjoy in our daily life and naturally fell in love with. I have been teaching building up the basic vocalizations for beginners and exploring both classic art songs and theater/Disney movie songs with advanced students for 3-4 years. It became my passion when I see my students understanding things through their body and express it confidently. I am excited about the coming courses filled with melody, fun movement and singing energy:)

Short Bio of Sungyeun Kim
" Sungyeun Kim has been recognized internationally for her potential as a versatile vocalist. Kim recently got her master's degree at Bard Conservatory of Music and has performed various types of musical numbers from She Loves Me, West Side Story, and Cats. At Fisher Center of Bard, Kim participated in French and German Cabaret performances with Met Opera Singer Stephanie Blythe. After finishing summer as a full-time fellow of both SongFest summer festival and the 2023 Toronto Music Summer Festival this summer, she is thrilled to be a festival artist at Opera Saratoga this Summer, performing the musical Guys and Dolls and Hot Box Girl and covering in the opera Cosi Fan Tutte. Kim is currently opening a session to people who would love to start focusing on their musical inspiration for the first time and also for who would be willing to learn more familiar melodies (musical theatre and disney songs).
