Hi, I'm Evan Zukin, a professional dancer and actor based in Boston with 17 years of performance experience and training and BA in Dance from the University of Iowa. I have been working as an educator for 5 years now and find trendous joy in sharing my love for arts with young minds. I belive dance and theater are for anyone regardless of experience or talent, and I aim to cultivate a classroom environement where everyone feels comfortable trying new things and being themselves. In my classes students grow as artists thorugh independent exploration of class material and group discussion about what is working and what it not. My classes are designed to meet young artists wherever they are in their artistic journey and provided them with the tools and support to expand their individal and collaborative artistic expression. My dance classes consist of technique building exercises and learning choreographged routines to build coordination and musicality, as well as the occasional game to practice our new skills in a more engaging setting. My musical theater and acting classes focus on expressive discovery through acting games and scene work, as well as basic movement ideas to stimulate the full-body actor. Outside of teaching I enjoy canoeing and spending time outside. You can find me at different local festivals and live music events!
