My name is Amelie, and I aim to host a space for kids to creatively express themselves through roleplaying, collaboration, and creating quirky, fantastical characters. My dungeons and dragons games allows players to create their own backstory and act out solutions on a quest with their peers. Creative expression is key, giving players room to practice critical thinking and creative solutions instead of always adhering to the D&D sourcebook. If a player wants the power to throw cabbages to soothe a hungry beast, for example, they've got it. I prioritize the needs of all students by focusing on fostering inclusivity and meeting students where they are. I have been hosting D&D exclusively for students for one year, and for friends and family for six years. Beyond D&D, I am an ELA tutor and a graduate student at Lehman College studying 7-12 Social Studies and Students with Disabilities to someday become a history teacher. I also have intermediate proficiency in Spanish and experience working with ENL students.
