Hello! I’m Ankita Siraswar, an Indian Classical dancer, yoga instructor, and educator with over 10 years of teaching experience and more than 20 years of classical dance training. I specialize in introducing children to dance through movement, rhythm, imagination, and storytelling, making learning joyful, engaging, and age-appropriate. My classes are designed to be welcoming for absolute beginners, focusing on body awareness, coordination, musicality, and expressive movement rather than perfection. I blend elements of Indian classical dance with creative movement, simple yoga-based warm-ups, and cultural stories so children learn while having fun. Having worked extensively with NYC schools, IB schools, and community programs, I understand how to adapt lessons for different age groups, learning styles, and energy levels. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and playful, while still nurturing discipline, confidence, and respect for movement as an art form. My goal is for every child to leave class feeling confident, curious, and proud of what their body can express.
