Hi, I am Michael! I am a Computer Science Specialist and Engineer who lives in Queens, New York. I grew up in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, and moved to Jamaica, Queens. I attended Queensborough Community College for an Associate in Applied Science for Internet and Information Technology. I recently graduated John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Information Security with a minor in Psychology. In my time working in Computer Science, I previously worked on numerous projects with various companies as an intern. Most notably, Google and Amazon, for their Google Cloud, and AWS Cloud Implementation programs respectively. I have over 7 years of experience teaching STEM (grades 2 through 12 and college students), primarily Robotics, Engineering, Mathematics (All Fields) and Computer Science (All Aspects.) I strive to be extremely relatable, engaging and fun with my students. My goal when teaching is to not overwhelm my students and to break down the material into fun and digestible sizes. Some of the classes I have taught are Android Web Development, Cloud-Based and Quantum Computing, Computer Engineering and Hardware, Architecture, Engineering, Lego Mindstorms/Spike Essentials, Scratch, and MIT App Inventor. When teaching classes I try to make it as creative, and fun as possible. I also enjoy teaching classes like "Science Experiments" and classes that are built to engage the mind. I recently finished up an internship with the NYC DOE's Assistive Tech Special Education Department. This means that I know how to engage, teach and interact with students who have a wide variety of IEP's, learning disabilities and special needs.
