Amelia D.
Nature, Art, and Science Exploration
Boston
- I work for Mass Audubon for my other job! I bring animals such as snakes, turtles, owls, and falcons into classrooms.
- I taught 6th grade science last year, and had so much fun doing hands on experiments with my students. My favorite was our penny cleaning lab!
- This year, I started keeping a nature journal with sketches and observations from my walks in the woods. Every walk I ask a question about what I saw, and do some research to find an answer.
Hello! My name is Amelia, and I love putting my biology and geology background to use through education. I am passionate about encouraging students' sense of curiousity and wonder about the world, whether that be through guided nature walks, hands-on science experiments, or crafts using natural materials or concepts. I have found classroom management success as a full time teacher through leading with kindness and compassion, and look forward to continuing this with Togetherhood!
