Hi! I'm Delia Cunningham and I'm an experienced youth drama educator. I've worked for 3 years developing and running after-school and summer programs in Brooklyn and privately coaching students for educational and professional auditions. I love teaching students of all ages and believe that theatre is an amazing way for young people to develop collaboration and leadership skills and (most importantly) to have a ton of fun.
I have my Bachelor's degree in Theatre from Northwestern University, with a certificate in Musical Theatre and concentrations in playwriting and directing. At NU I took a particular interest in physical theatre, devising, and TYA. I've directed many productions with (and for) students over the last several years, both in Chicago and back home in Brooklyn. As a result, I've totally fallen in love with theatre education.

Theatre can teach us so much! With drama games, vocal warm-ups, and physical exercises we'll strengthen our actor's instrument (ourselves!) and have a blast doing it. With devising, clowning, and improv we will learn about storytelling and character. And through inhabiting different characters and their circumstances we will learn about ourselves and the world around us, developing empathy, confidence, and collaboration along the way.

Additionally, as a professional actor and writer, I have expert knowledge of the current field and can help students prepare for important auditions by selecting excellent material and coaching them on new challenges like self-tapes and on-camera acting.
