- I rode on an elephant when I was 5
- I am culturally named after the day I was born
- I'm preparing for a 5K/10K
My first job teaching was as a substitute Biology teacher at a D-75 school in The Bronx and it taught me a lot about myself and really helped improve my teaching styles. I love science and all it's branches (chemistry is pretty hard so it probably my least favorite but still captivating). My favorite subject in biology is Anatomy and Physiology. To me, there is nothing more fascinating than know how all the parts in your body work and just how interdependent everything within us and around us is. It is quite humbling! I LOVE trying new foods, experiences and places as it helps broaden my horizons. I hope teaching ASL to my students will open up a whole new way of thinking for them. I appreciate how children are very affable and inquisitive by nature so this creates the perfect breeding grounds to inculcate new skillsets within them that will, in my opinion, make them more confident, accepting and marketable. I really care about inclusion and diversity so learning and teaching ASL helps me contribute to this :)
