Ryan is an artist and woodworker based in Brooklyn, NY, a native of California and a graduate of New York University. As an artist he’s had solo exhibitions at the Invisible Dog Art Center, the Mattatuck Museum, the Children’s Museum of the Arts, the Lilac Preservation Project, Art-In-Buildings and Tremaine Gallery at Hotchkiss School and has attended numerous artist residencies internationally and across the U.S.


As a woodworker Ryan has over a decade of experience in carpentry, fine woodworking, furniture restoration and home repairs. In 2020 he founded his own woodworking business, Frank Wood Works, which does a variety of furniture fabrication and refinishing work, among other projects.

For Ryan, woodworking is a way to connect with nature through the handcrafted. Originally from Northern California, Ryan has lived and worked in New York City for the past twenty years. He is an ardent runner and a practitioner of Tai Chi.
