I have been playing and writing music for more than 20 years and teaching for almost half that time. As a child my first instrument was the guitar, I started with a folk music background. More recently I have been a singer, guitarist, bassist, and drummer in a number of touring rock bands, and composed in many genres, both in my own projects and commercially.

Music has been an important part of my life from before I can remember. In London, where I was born, my parents would take me to Covent Garden to hear free classical music, and I would try to play along with the band, with a ‘violin’ made from a plastic fork and spoon, or whatever was around. When I was growing up I spent a lot of time around my aunt and uncle, who played bluegrass and folk music, and I loved to learn the songs they played and sing along. I’m grateful that I was encouraged to play music from an early age, and I think most kids would benefit from the same kind of exposure to it that I had.

In my group classes I hope to bring out the passion that most children naturally have for music. I offer a variety of courses aimed at kids of all ages.
