- I have two cats - Tibby and Ollie.
- I love to bake cakes, and have worked at a custom cake design company.
- I have traveled to Sweden, Paris, and Cuba to present on topics related to street art and social activism.
I am a passionate visual artist, gender justice activist, and educator who believes in the power of using public art for social change. I am the founder and co-leader of Chalk Back, a global youth-led chalk art movement against gender-based street harassment. The goal of Chalk Back is to empower young people to combat street harassment using social media, story sharing, and chalk art. My work with Chalk Back has been featured in international media including New York Times, BBC, CNN, The Independent, Forbes, Vanity Fair, and NBC.
I love to teach workshops and classes on how to use public art to address different forms of injustice, and encourage students to use their voices. I have run successful workshops with students of various ages and given talks at UNESCO's Media Information Literacy Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, and UNESCO’s World Cities Day in Paris, France. I have worked on educational campaigns with Plan International and the UN Girls Education Initiative. I have a Bachelors of Arts from New York University in Gender and Sexuality Studies.
My work can be found on Instagram at www.instagram.com/catcallsofnyc and at www.chalkback.org.
