Heyyy!! I’m Avery D. Wilson, but feel free to call me Coach Avery! I’m a Movement Experience Specialist; an instructor, coach, and trainer who loves to move, be moved, make moves… pretty much evvverything moving! My career is perhaps comparable to one of the most delicious dishes from home - Louisiana gumbo! True to its reputation, the tasty rue holds assorted combinations and blended varieties, all mixed in one bowl. Much like the rich fusion of gumbo, my work's specialty recipe blends multiple trained artforms and professional performance experiences from around the world.
I consider myself a multidisciplinary creative; someone deeply connected to artistic service as a teacher, performer, and choreographer. While my wide range of industry experience includes theatre, commercial and concert dance, television, film, modeling, and pageantry, it's always a humbling reminder that for me... it all started with cheerleading! As a proud alumnus of the HBCU tradition, former captain of the Southern University Cheerleaders, former NCA Staff Instructor, 2x NCA Collegiate All-American, and former Black College Championships National Best Cheerleader, I take pride in leading with spirit, and moving with soul!
I'm committed to enriching the lives of youth as the Director of MVMINT Xperience, a spirited enterprise expression of cheerleading, dance, and the art of stepping. Using intention as a guiding principle, and ritualistic practice as a guiding force, I honor each moment life offers to curate innovative experiences with emerging young talent, whom I like to identify as - Our Amazing Little People!
