I'm Theo! I'm a 26 year old comedy filmmaker and NYU Tisch alumni. I love to tell stories collaboratively, it's how my passion for writing became a passion for filmmaking, and how I got so interested in performance-heavy roleplaying games like D&D. I have a positive attitude and a willingness to adapt that I think is so crucial when working with kids, and why it's been such a good fit for me since I started childcare in 2017 and teaching in 2020.

Right now, I teach moviemaking classes at Brooklyn Arts Council three days a week, I occasionally run D&D games for kids at The Last Place On Earth Cafe, and I tutor a third grader in videomaking. At BAC, I teach 12-week courses on creating short 5 minute movies. I start the kids out with basic story structure, then introduce them to camera composition, and then together as a class we write our idea for a movie. We then spend the next few weeks filming it together on a camcorder – I make sure each kid has a chance to be behind the camera, and encourage plenty of them to take roles in the movie as well. We spend the last few weeks editing the movie together as I teach them iMovie. Teaching my own curriculum and art has been the best work experience ever, and I'm eagerly looking for more enriching opportunities like this.
