Story Artist, Illustrator & Educator
- I am a former cellist.
- Anime's such as Sailor Moon inspired my art career.
- I have over 50 completed sketchbooks.
My name is Alyssa Molina. I'm a native New Yorker, proud Boricua-Italian, cat lover, and art history appreciator. My artistic journey began in fine arts painting, shifting to illustration at the SUNY Fashion Institute of Technology. After earning my BFA in Illustration in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, I embraced my true passion—animation. Currently, I'm self-teaching storyboarding and complementing my skills with online classes to enhance my expertise in visual storytelling. While pursuing a career in storyboarding, I share my painting expertise at a local studio as a teacher and mentor, guiding students of all ages while simultaneously freelancing as an illustrator.
While I used to be a practiced dancer, singer, instrumentalist, and weightlifter, these pursuits have gracefully transitioned into cherished hobbies that I thoroughly enjoy as an outlet outside of visual arts. Though, one of my proudest endeavors is organizing and attending urban sketching meetups with local artists through social media. It provides the opportunity to explore the city through art but also fosters meaningful connections and a sense of community among fellow creatives. My artistic journey is an appreciated blend of a strong commitment to personal growth and community. It is these experiences that inspire me to create more.
