My name is Eli and I love teaching and working with kids. I teach both my greatest passions (tennis and chess) as well as my greatest strengths (math, science and test prep). I work with all ages and levels.
I first began tutoring in high school, working with elementary school students. Since then, I have taught Spanish and math in a classroom, given private English lessons, tutored the SAT, and taught tennis for several years. I am now thrilled to be teaching chess with Togetherhood. I am always open to working with new students in a wide variety of fields.
My greatest strength is my ability to relate to the struggles students have. I remember learning all the subjects that I teach and I often had the exact same struggles. I have found simple, creative methods for dealing with challenging material that I am happy to share. That said, the most important aspect of teaching for me is to understand how the student learns best, and to help them learn in that style, even if it is completely different from mine.
