Kearah-Armonie (aka Kearmonie) is a Non-binary Afro-Caribbean Multidisciplinary Artist from Brooklyn, NY. Having began their journey as a spoken word poet and writer in 2011 Kearah-Armonie is now a mentor and teaching artist. Over the last decade they have worked with organizations such as Urban Word NYC, The Shed, and The Harlem Children’s Zone offering poetry lessons and skills to encourage youth voice and explore creative action through writing, storytelling, and performance for as young as elementary school students across NYC. Their writing often exhibits the condition of the Black American from a millennial lens, with personal accounts of love, family, oppression, and womanism. Their work can be found in No Dear Magazine, Black Minds Mag, and Great Weather for Media’s anthology “The Other Side of Violet”. Having just completed their MFA Post-Production at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema they primarily work as a Freelance Editor and Assistant Editor.
