Laura Arike is a Brooklyn based art historian, artist, and educator. She holds a B.A in Art History from Pratt Institute with a minor in Museum and Gallery Practices. Laura currently works in Exhibitions at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and previously taught in the Education department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Her approach to teaching lies in visual thinking strategies, inquiry based pedagogy, and collaborative art-making. She is strongly motivated by youth development work, identity formation, and the role of social justice in cultural spaces, approaching all possibilities with an overarching goal of ensuring that art is accessible and for everyone.
