Say Hi
  • Did you know that a group of ferrets is called a business?
  • The scientific genus and species of a Llama is Llama glama!
  • Whales are carbon sinks, which means they can help cool our planet by removing excess carbon from the atmosphere! I painted a whale mural using biodegradable materials as an homage to their important role in the environment.

Yumarlin Rodriguez, otherwise known as Yumi, is a small human with a very big heart. Yumi has a deep love for animals, exploring, and the natural world. She works in a wide range of mediums including performance, sculpture, photography, story boarding, animation, painting, and drawing, to name a few. She is dedicated to utilizing these skills, in combination with arts communication and her passions for the environment and the socio-cultural sphere, to provide art access to marginalized communities. Yumi has worked on public art initiatives like the Audubon Mural project located in Upper Manhattan, which paints murals dedicated to raising awareness to the hundreds of bird species threatened by climate change. When she isn’t creating, she can be found bending her body every which way as a certified yoga instructor, caring for animals as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, or at the biology lab where she assists with biological research. Yumi graduated from The Cooper Union’s School for the Advancement of Art and Science in the summer of 2022 and received a Master's degree in Climate from Columbia University in 2024.
