- I speak 3 languages: English 😁, Spanish and Italian. And I am familiar with French, German, Latin, Portuguese, and Tagalog (Filipino).
- Outside of music, I am a drawing/sketch artist specializing in portraiture, nature and pets ☺️ and I have special hobby of photographing flowers and bees. Also, I have occasionally been confused for a dancer, even though I have no formal training 😄
- I am the proud father of an awesome teenage daughter who is a die-hard Taylor Swift devotee. And my husband and I have 2 sweet cats that we adore: Cassie, Felix, and Sam 😻
Originally from Puerto Rico, I have been a passionate educator in the Tri-State area for over 20 years. I have dedicated my life to music both as a pedagogue as a concert and recording artist, and have had extensive training in all the areas I teach. I provide one-on-one instruction for all levels of violin, viola and voice, as well as group instruction (strings and vocal technique) and ensembles (choir, chamber music and string ensembles). I am an ardent believer in the balance between structure, adaptability, collaboration, care and humor. And I have created dozens of musical arrangements and curriculums to adapt to the needs of students wherever I teach.
As a performer I have had a career I’m very grateful for, and have appeared as a soloist and ensemble performer in all instruments, and in a variety of styles (classical, Broadway, rock, latin, pop, sacred). I have played with ensembles in the US and Puerto Rico such as the orchestras of “Phantom of the Opera”, “My Fair Lady”, “Sweeney Todd” and “&Juliet” on Broadway, Puerto Rico Symphony, Albany Symphony, Greenwich Symphony, and Zipoli Ensemble for the American Baroque. I am passionate about instrumental and vocal chamber music, and have collaborated performed with the Harlem Chamber Players, Quartetto Tomassini, Voices of the New, and in multiple chamber music performances as a guest artist in the US, Puerto Rico and Europe.
Also as a vocalist, I have presented solo art song recitals in the United States and Europe, and have appeared as soloist with various opera companies, S.E.M. Ensemble, Early Music New York, Music at Fifth Avenue Presbyerian, and Master Voices at Carnegie Hall. I also sing regularly with the Professional Choir of St. Ignatius Loyola in NYC, Clarion Music Society, Musica Sacra and Bard Festival Singers.
