- Black Belt in Karate
I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University at Buffalo, and a Master's in Educational Theatre from Adelphi University. I’ve taught theater in classrooms, studios, and academies for over ten years, as well as managed a summer theater for over four years. I’m confident in my ability to connect and lead students to help them achieve their fullest potential.
I have experience teaching a wide range of grade levels, from elementary to college, and know how to instruct students who require varying learning approaches. Most recently, I directed and produced a high school production with a cast of over 75 students. I am adept at creating a curriculum for high school-aged students and actors of all levels that want to further their theatrical knowledge. I teach with a contagious passion and often provide a hands-on approach during lessons, including an amusing performance of a TikTok dance in a recent improv class I led. I possess the ability to inspire students to take risks and specialize in working with them individually to help develop their acting skills.
I also have the added experience of being a successful working actor. This gives me insight into the current theater industry and the ability to connect as an actor, not just a teacher, to my students. I have performed on national tours, cruise ships, and regional theaters worldwide. I have familiarity with theater for young audiences, having performed in shows including Paw Patrol Live, Berenstain Bears Live, and touring schools with the American Red Cross.
I believe I can continue to grow any program and bring engaging, authentic energy to the staff. My goal as a teacher and director is to create an inclusive environment that makes theater accessible to students of all backgrounds. I believe in the power of applied theater to promote social change, and feel that live theater is now more important than ever in today's world.
