I have been providing music enrichment and education for over 15 years. In addition to operating a private studio out of Brooklyn and Manhattan, I provide optimized instruction and curriculum to groups, clinics and public and private schools throughout the tristate. With an early background in classical, jazz and improvisational piano, a BA in music and audio technology, and years of professional composition experience, I deliver unique perspective, passion, and comprehensive music literacy to students of all ages. As a multi-instrumentalist and audio producer, I guide beginner and intermediate skill levels through the joys of piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, voice, theory, ear training, music writing, recording and mixing, as well as software like Garageband, Logic and Protools.
I believe Fun is Learning's favorite food. To that end, I instill in my students a strong foundation of theory on which to cultivate and support their own, organic musical interests, which I then use as foundation to introduce more theoretical concepts. Through the use of games, practice techniques, song learning, analysis and performance, students quickly develop literacy, dexterity of body and mind, as well as skills to improvise, create, perform, and record their own original music. My goal as a teacher is to give my students the inspiration and tools necessary to pursue their own passion as quickly as possible, and my greatest joy is watching them find it."
